Reducing Rodenticides in Urban Settings

Working with Ackerstein Sustainability and Google Inc, we are testing new and safer rodenticides in urban settings with the goal of reducing the environmental impact of rodent control. Using camera traps and in collaboration with San Jose State University, we are working at two Google campuses in California to 1) test the efficacy on new rodenticides compared to business as usual and 2) document the biodiversity present at the campuses. The overarching goal is reduce the use of rodenticides and thier impacts while maintaining the necessary control of non-native rodents in urban settings.
