NYT’s Big Ideas of 2005

Sunday, January 29th, 2006

Pleistocene Rewilding was named as one of New York Times Magazine’s Big Ideas of 2005. A group of 12 biologists, led by Josh Donlan and Harry Greene, outlined a bold, optimistic, and pro-active conservation plan to bring back large animals to North America that have been absent for thousands of years. The original proposal, Re-wilding North America, was published in the scientific journal Nature in August 2005. A longer detailed proposal will be published in 2006 in the journal The American Naturalist.
