ACS is working in the Choco rainforest with the Pinchot Institute for Conservation. In Mompiche, Ecuador, we are creating new economic opportunities for local cacao farmers. Those new opportunities are explicitly linked to incentives that promote reduced deforestation and reforestation.

Dr. Amy Rogers (Pinchot Institue for Conservation), ACS associate Drew Tulchin (Social Enterprise Associates), and Dr. Josh Donlan are leading the design of a new pilot program that links emerging markets, local communities living inside an ecological reserve, and strong incentives for environmental stewardship.
